✨Training for the Disney Princess Challenge: Join Me on the Road to 19.3 Magical Miles!✨
My family vacation is lining up with the Disney Princess Run Weekend Challenge! So that means i am going sign up for for the challenge this year. For those who might not be familiar, this challenge means I'll be running a 5K on Friday, a 10K on Saturday, and a half marathon on Sunday during the magical race weekend starting February 26, 2025.
That’s 19.3 miles over three days—and I want you to come along on the journey with me!
Whether you're thinking about doing a runDisney event yourself, currently training for another big fitness goal, or just love some behind-the-scenes insight into what it takes to go from “Disney daydreamer” to “finish line achiever,” this blog series is for you. Every week, I’ll be sharing:
My running workouts (I am planning to run three days a week)
How I’m balancing it with 4 days of strength training
My core and yoga work (because recovery matters!)
How I’m adjusting the plan around real-life events like vacations, races, kids, work and rest days
Tips on gear, nutrition, mindset, and of course, cute Disney-themed workout fits
Oh—and did I mention I’ve got a 6-mile race during the Burlington Marathon Weekend on May 25 and I’m tackling the Spartan Beast on June 14? Those milestones are part of the plan and will help me build strength and endurance before we start peaking for race weekend in February.
This training plan isn’t just for me—it’s something you can follow along with too, whether you’re preparing for your own Disney race or just looking for motivation to move your body in a joyful way. It’s manageable (three run days!), fun, and grounded in consistency over perfection.
✨ Coming next week: Week One Recap + How I’m Building My Base Mileage. I will link a PDF each week here so that we can workout together if you want to train together!
So grab your glittery water bottle, lace up those running shoes, and join me on this magical road to the castle. The only thing better than crossing the finish line at Disney? Doing it with friends who believe in pixie dust and progress, not perfection.
👑 Let’s do this! Check out this coming years’ races:
